We are extremely proud to announce that on April 22, 2013, our Ptysia gave birth to five beautiful girls and one handsome gentleman! Mom and babies are doing great, and proud dad, Baxter (Am. GCh. Devonshire Celtic Pride), is kibitzing from across the pond.

Fraser, Ptysia, Lotti, and I went on a trip to Serbia, where Fraser and Ptysia participated in two dog shows. On Saturday, at the CAC Show in Turija, Fraser won CAC and BOB, and Ptysia – JCAC and Best Junior. On Sunday, at the Backa Topola CACIB Show, Fraser added a Group 1 and BIS 2 to his wins, while Ptysia again won JCAC and Best Junior. Thus we returned home with lots of trophies and two new Serbian Championships: an adult one for Fraser, and a Junior one for Ptysia. Our thanks to our trip companions for a great trip and for their support, and especially to Ania for help with showing Ptysia.

While in Serbia, we got the news that on the same weekend back home in Poland, at the National Hunting Dog Show in Płock, our Flaire K2, in touch competition, won the final JCAC needed to complete her Polish Junior Championship. Congratulations to K2 and her owner/handler, Karolina Dąbrowska!

I spent a beautiful Sunday in September at the Type Bull Terrier Club Show in Warsaw, where I translated and stewarded at the Am Staff ring of the Swiss Judge, Mrs. Cornelia Bergundthal.

Meanwhile in Chorzów, Poland, at a National Dog Show where Airedale were judged by the distinguished Terrier expert, Mrs. Judith Averis, Guinness’s daughter, MAKOWA PANIENKA Kementari won the breed, and then went on the win, for the second year in a row (!!!) the title of the best dog of the Chorzów Division. Congratulations to Maki and her owner, Ania Paczena.

Fraser’s great success at the National Dog Show in Warsaw! Judged by Andrzej Pławiński, Fraser won the breed, then won the Group judged by the Spanish judge, Pilar Paloma Iglesias Sanz. The crowning achievement was placing second in the BIS, judged by Mrs. Dorota Witkowska.

Here comes K2! At the National Dog Show in Radom, Poland, K2 won the titles of Junior Winner, Best Junior, and BOB, and then, during the Junior BIS, was chosen to represent the Terrier Group in the finals. Congratulations to K2 and her owner/handler, Karolina Dąbrowska!

Ptysia, Fraser, and I went on a trip to Leeuwarden in Holland, where Fraser competed in the rings of the European Dog Show and the associated CAC show, and Ptysia amused herself by barkind at Dutch cows. And so on the first day (Sept. 1) at the European Show, in a very strong Champion Class with top European dogs in competition, Fraser ended up in 4th place, and on the secon day (Sept. 3) he went BOS!!! In Holland we met Angelika Żabicka with Guinness’s son, Gingerdream ALL EYES ON ME, who was Res. CACIB at the European Show, and Ania Paczena, with Guinness’s daughter, MODNA PANI Kementari, who won the Intermediate Class.

Our stay in Holland was all the more fun as I was able to reconnect with my childhood, when, together with my parents and brother, I lived in Utrecht for six months. So at the sho I stuffed myself with delicious miniature pancaked called poffertjes, and I spent Friday, the day between our two shows, with our friend Lieke at her vacation home, beautifully located on the bank of a canal in nearby Heeg. We relaxed on her lawn and reminesced about the old days, to the rythm of boats moving lazily along the canal. I spent the night at a lovely campground located on a milk farm in the picturesque village of De Wilt.

Meanwhile, Lotti spent the week at our friend Ola’s place, running around Ola's beautifully wooded lot with two friends, Airedale Felix (Ptysia’s littermate), and Flat Coated Retriever Kapok. Ola – thank you!

At the National Terrier Show in Białystok, Fraser won the breed, and then, for the first time since coming to Poland, won BISS 3! The group judge was Julia Aidiene (LT), while in the breed we were judged by Jurate Butkiene (LT), who also awarded Ptysia first place and a CAC in the Intermediate class . The next day, at the International Dog Show, both Fraser and Ptysia were Res. CACIB.

International (CACIB) Dog Show in Sopot, Poland – szczeniaki, szczenięta, Airedale, Hodowla Flaire, Warszawa one of our favorite shows. Judged by Airedale specialist, Joanna Szczepańska-Korpetta, our Ptysia won te Intermediate Class and CAC, beginning at the age of fifteen and a half months her adult Polish Championship. Guinness’s son, Gingerdream ALL EYES ON ME, won the breed, and his daughter, Gingerdream BORN TO BE WILD, was Junior Winner and Best Junior. Congratulations to Angelika Żabicka, the breeder/owner of these beautiful Airedales!

Our friends from the psiakosc.com online forum took some beautiful photos of Ptysia during and after judging. We will include them soon in Ptysia’s gallery. The photo on right (by M10M) shows Ptysia in action in the ring.

I couldn’t go to the International Dog Show in Kaliningrad, Russia, because I couldn’t get a Russian visa. So I sent Ptysia to Russia under the care of some marvelous friends. This was Ptysia’s first time being handled by somebody other then me – but Ania and Ptysia did great, winning the titles JCAC and Best Junior, and fulfilling the requirements for the Russian Junior Championship. Unfortunately, they didn’t stay for the Junior BIS – but this is Ptysia’s fifth Junior Championship already! Ania, thanks bunches!

The dogs and I spent a marvelous 11 days at an agility camp organized by our Agility Club, Fort. This year’s camp took place in the Masuria district, on the shores of a beautiful lake. I lead a beginner’s group, and participated with Ptysia in a group for young dogs, while Lotti and Fraser relaxed and enjoyed the surrounding countryside. Ptysia learned to swim – although for now, her preferred style is the crawl... Ptysia’s sister, K2, was also at the camp with her owner, and following camp, it was our great pleasure to be able to spend a few more relaxing days with them at their vacation house.

We are extremely proud of the achievements of our debutants at the International Dog Show in Warsaw, Poland. In her show debut, Flaire K2 (Owner: Karolina Dąbrowska) was judged Excellent, placed first, and won the bitch Junior Winner title. Earlier, Guinness’s sire, Stirling SKEANDHU, who is visiting with us from the US, in his European debut won the Reserve CACIB title, losing the CACIB to his grandson, Guinness’s son Gingerdream ALL AROUND IS CHAOS, who also won the breed. Additionally, Guinness’s son Gingerdream BOUND FOR GLORY was the dog Junior Winner and Best Junior.

Guinness’s kids score major wins in Paris! Eight of Guinness’s get were shown at the World Dog Show and the Championnat de France show which preceded it, with seven of them placing on at least one of the two days. Our Ptysia was third in a very strong Junior Bitch Class on the first day, and on the second day she made the final cut to six but did not place. We are extremely proud of her, as she showed beautifully! Our heartiest congratulations, however, go to our travel companion, Angelika Żabicka, and her young bitch, Gingerdream BORN TO BE WILD, who, shown only on the second day, won the Junior Bitch Class and thus the title of World Junior Winner, then Best Junior, and topped it off by making the cut to the final six in the Junior Group! I have some photos promised, which I hope to include here soon...

May 23-June15, 2011

During a trip to the US, I visited Guinness, who is living back home at Stirling. We had missed each other very much and it was fun to spend the few days together, part of the time with Guinness on the grooming table, where I stripped him out of his winter coat. As had been planned, I returned to Poland with Guinness’s sire, Fraser, who was to be shown at the World Dog Show in Paris. Unfortunately, a number of unhappy circumstances out of our control (including a tornado, which devastated Striling’s home town of Monson, MA) contributed to Fraser’s coat, and especially his furnishings, not being ready for the show… And so he’ll go to Paris just as a tourist.

At the National Dog Show in Alytus (Lithuania), Ptysia won the titles JCAC and Best Junior, thus finishing her Lithuanian Junior Championship. This brings to FOUR the number of Ptysia's different Junior Championships!

May 7-8, 2011

Ptysia and I went for two international (CACIB) shows to L'viv, in the Ukraine. On the first day, Ptysia won a JCAC and Best Junior title, and on the second – she topped off completing her Ukrainian Junior Championship title with her first BOB!

Today, five Airedales from the “K” litter szczeniaki, szczenięta, Airedale, Hodowla Flaire, Warszawa – Kathmandu (Felix), K2, Kenya, Kanchenjunga (Junga), and Karpatka (Ptysia) – met at Felix’s for a birthday party! Guests included Lotti, Kapok (a Flat-Coated Retriever and Felix’s “brother”), and of course the owners. We first went for a walk in the woods. Kapok ran around by himself looking for someplace to swim, but the six ‘dales running together were a sight to behold! After the walk we returned to Felix’s for a barbeque, two cakes – one for the humans, and one for the canines – and lots of dog talk. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate… It was already raining – cats and dogs, actually – on our walk, and we got soaked. When we returned, we hung up the wet clothes to dry by the fire place as we watched the “May shower” turn to snow… When the guests were leaving, it was white everywhere. The view out of the window the next morning is pictured on the left. I hope to include more pictures from the party as soon as I can get them from the photographers (I didn’t take any myself).

I was an apprentice to judge Małgorzata Supronowicz at the Terrier Club Show in Opole, Poland. At the same time, Airedales were being judged in another ring, so I wasn’t there to root for Guinness’s kids. Guinness’s son, Gingerdream ALL EYES ON ME was BOB and Club Winner, and Junior Club Winners were his yonger siblings, littermates Gingerdream BORN TO BE WILD and Gingerdream BOUND FOR GLORY. The previous day, at the International Dog Show in Opole, the Breed went to Gignerdream ALL AROUND IS CHAOS. Congratulations to Angelika Żabicka, the breeder of this fantastic bunch of youngsters!

The theme of the contest was "How your dog shows love". As a prize, we will receive a unique collar and leash set. I was deeply touched, especially since neither Misia nor my Mom are with us anymore. My sincere thanks go to the contest judges!
