The continuation of the Great Journey: I left Lotti with Angelika and Sylwek while I flew from Berlin to the US, where I spent three weeks with family and friends. During Montgomery Weekend, I watched Airedales compete in agility, obedience, and rally, as well as at confirmation shows at Devon and Montgomery County. I then visited my friend Bobbi Brennan (White Rose Airedales) and Guinness at his home with Shirley Good and Susan Rodgers (Stirling Airedales). On my way back, I again swung by Angelika's and Asia's to pick up my dogs scattered about the Baltic coast!

While I toured the US, Eyeson and Angelica took in Dortmund, where from the Junior Class, they took BOB over specials (including this year's European BOB winner) at the prestigeous Bundessieger show.

Lotti, Ptysia, and I went to Lublin for my cousin's wedding. We had a great time — we lived in a hotel at the edge of a forest, where we went on wonderful walks. On one of them, we were joined by our friend Kasia with her Airedale Flopi. There was no end to Airedale craziness!

August 20-22, 2010

This was a very busy weekend. Lotti stayed home with my cousin Paweł, while Ptysia and I went south. On Friday, I had some business near Rzeszów, and Ptysia stayed with my friend Magda (Magda, thanks for taking care of my puppy, and for the delicious cafe latte!) I picked up Ptysia on Saturday in Radom, where I spent the day helping with an agility trial put on by my agility club (KA Fort). In the evening I drove to Kraków to retrieve Mandu from his vacation with Dorota (Dorota, thanks again for taking such great care of my little boy!) Finally on Sunday, back in Radom, I worked as a secretary in Judge Elżbieta Chwalibóg's ring at the National Dog show there.

August 13-18, 2010

Lotti, Ptysia and I spent a few days at the coast together (K2 stayed in Warsaw with Lena). First, we visited Asia Hewelt and Lord Ludwik in Gdańsk for a bit of training and a barbecue. The next day, I was an apprentice in the ring of Judge Magdalena Kozłowska at the International Dog Show in Sopot, while Asia with a group of Terrier friends looked after Ptysia and Lotti (thanks, guys!). On Sunday we went to Jastrzębia Góra, where we spent a few days meeting with friends, and finally on Wednesday, we returned to Warsaw. On our way home we stopped at the beach for another walk with Asia, Ludwik, and Hugo, and then in Bory Tucholskie, for a visit with Trop (Flaire KLIMCZOK), where we were fed a delicious dinner!

I took Mandu (Flaire KATHMANDU) for a couple of weeks' vacation in the country near Kraków. On the way home I visited Katia (Flaire KATMAI) in Kielce. Katia is wonderful; she started school, where although she's the youngest, she's the head of the class, but at home she just never stops!

July 12-21, 2010

I took Lotti and three of the pups — Kathmandu, Kenya, and K2 — to agility camp organized by our agility club "Fort" in Nieborów near Warsaw. This year our camp had special training sessions for very young puppies, and our threesome actively participated. Each puppy worked with its own trainer: Mandu with Magda, Kenya with Klaudia, and K2 with me. They learned how to come when called, how to run through tunnels, how to walk on lead, and how to perform the basic commands sit, down, and stand. They also had motivational sessions and time to swim in a nearby reservoir. Lotti meanwhile was practicing her agility skills and even did the weave poles a few times!!!

A great big THANK YOU first and foremost to Klaudia and Magda, but also to all the participants in our agility camp, who made it possible for me not just to have a great time, but also to rest up a bit!

Two more puppies from the "K" litter left us for their new homes. On July 1, I took Flaire KORBANIA (Kora) from our home in Warsaw to Białystok, where we met her new owner, who came from Lithuania to pick up her puppy. Their meeting was a scene straight from a B romance movie: they saw each other from a distance, ran towards each other, and fell into each other's arms! Good luck, Kora!

The picture on the right shows Kora in her new home.

On July 3, we said goodbye to Flaire KACHENJUNGA, who will live in Warsaw. Her call name is not yet certain, but maybe it will be simply Junga.
